Celebrating a century of dedicated cardboard box manufacturing (1926 – 2026), the family-run business operating today as The Walsall Box Co remains a proudly independent UK packaging manufacturer. For 100 years, we have built an unshakeable reputation across the West Midlands and the wider UK for delivering exceptional customer service, bespoke manufacturing, and high-quality packaging solutions.
Our History: From 1800s Printers to Packaging Experts
Our origins trace back to the mid-1800s with T. Kirby and Sons Ltd, a highly respected Walsall printing company. Recognising a growing need for custom packaging, the business gradually diversified, and in 1926, Ernest Kirby officially formed the dedicated box manufacturing company that paved the way for who we are today.
Today, the factory is run by the third and fourth generations of the same founding family. While our technology and manufacturing capabilities have expanded massively over the decades, the core values at the heart of our business remain exactly the same: an unwavering commitment to quality, reliability, and personal service.

Because we offer a true “one-stop shop” for bespoke packaging, we proudly manufacture standard shipping cartons and luxury rigid boxes for a vast array of sectors, including:
